Tourism Minister's Tribute To Scotland's Victorian Heritage.
Mr Frank McAveety MSP, Minister for Tourism, Sport and Culture, joined Mr Gordon Sneddon, owner of the Queen’s Hotel, to mark the achievement of the last of Dundee's grand Victorian hotels in serving thousands of patrons over thirteen decades.
The Queen's Hotel, which opened in Dundee's Nethergate in 1878, is today still at the heart of city life and continues to be a highly prominent landmark, visible from several vantage points around the city centre.
Mr McAveety said: "The Queen's Hotel, here in Dundee, which is today marking 125 years of service, provides an excellent example of how delivering a consistently high quality service ensures prosperity and repute."
Owner Mr Sneddon - commented that the passage of time has preserved a grace and elegance that is as popular today as it ever was.
